Yes my mistake. you are right there. Cork need to win and hope that Tipp and Clare end in a draw or a Tipp victory. Any other circumstance and Cork go down. Donegalman (None) - Posts: 3830 - 23/03/2019 12:36:19 2174506 Link 0 |

The league final hasn't happened yet, so what's the issue?

We will top the league?? Also prior to this was one about hammering Fermanagh. Just wondering what happened to those predictions.

You won't top the table. Possibly not make the final either never mind win it.

"Possibly." Possibly works both ways. We could possibly play you in the final and possibly beat you too. Possibly. It's who takes the title and trophy that counts. Donegal_abroad (Donegal) - Posts: 1323 - 24/03/2019 08:01:20 2174621 Link 2 |
No it's not, promotion whether it be 1st place or 2nd place is all that counts in divisions 2,3 and 4. The final is a bonus and a game nobody will worry about losing

Seems it's all a matter of opinion then. My initial point was that the Meath man's comments about Donegal's hopes being in tatters are ill-founded before the final games are actually played, and that we could end up beating them in a Division 2 final so he was quick to jump. As well as being promoted. Agree that promotion is key, clearly, but a trophy in Croke Park is nice when it's on the table. Mother of all comebacks on the cards in Ballyshannon. Donegal rattled. if_in_doubt (Kildare) - Posts: 3685 - 24/03/2019 14:59:52 2174700 Link 0 |
Kildare truly awful again today. Cian needs to look at himself, this is going on far far too long. kildare73 (Kildare) - Posts: 854 - 24/03/2019 15:08:04 2174702 Link 2 |
Kildare people always seem to have an excuse blaming managers or referees or pitches or weather maybe the players need to have a look at themselves. I know you have lost players this year but you did win a u20 all Ireland so should be better than you have been showing not always the managers fault

Phew! We got there in the end. It wasn't looking too promising there about a month ago but promotion has been secured on the last day. We can now look forward to testing ourselves against the mighty Meath in Croke Park next weekend! :P Lockjaw (Donegal) - Posts: 9196 - 24/03/2019 15:54:33 2174726 Link 1 |
Congratulations to Meath and Donegal. Was listening to Sunday Sport and Tipp v Clare sounded like a mighty contest. GreenandRed (Mayo) - Posts: 7394 - 24/03/2019 16:02:17 2174734 Link 3 |
We're lucky to be still in Division 2. Beat Clare,Tipp and Cork only, all contenders for demotion. St.Conleth (Kildare) - Posts: 1700 - 24/03/2019 16:02:54 2174735 Link 2 |

What a truly bizarre comment. Giving out about a manager is an excuse? Since when ? Not one Kildare poster on here has said we deserved anything more than we got in the league or blamed any hard luck story. We have performed poorly & the manager doesn't seem to be addressing the same issues which are arising over & over. Very disappointing. Take the #newbridgeornowhere game against Mayo out and we have had an an atrocious 15 months - 7 losses in Division One, humiliating loss to Carlow in Leinster and now a hugely disappointing Division Two campaign where we have only beaten the 3 relegation candidates. O'Neill's tactics, team selections and substitutions all leave a lot to be desired. Yes the players have to take blame also - their discipline has been poor with too many cards and many have under-performed - but O'Neill keeps selecting these same players regardless. The goodwill from the Mayo game is long gone........
