Gerard Brennan (Reaghstown)

Gerard Brennan of Edmondstown, Ardee, passed away on May 9th, 2014. Born in 1935, Gerard was a natural leader in his community and, as well as serving as secretary (and founder member) of the Reaghstown / Tallanstown branch of the Irish Farmers Association (IFA), he was the first chairman of the newly-reformed Westerns GFC and was honorary president of the club at the time of his death. A guard of honour was jointly provided at Gerard's funeral by members of Westerns GFC and local branches of both the IFA and Fine Gael.
