McStay touted to take over the Rossies soon. Looks like we'll be losing McHale.

Any talk about who new selectors might be - And please, lets not have the usual anti Hyland idiots in saying they want Jim McGuinness etc. Im talking realistic candidates.

Saw Kevin Downes with Terry Hyland in Brefini for some of the games so he must be staying on.

Fred, lets hope that whoever the new selectors are that any guys who impressed in the current championship season and who selected on the county panel are not subsequently judged by their efforts in McKenna Cup in the month of January, not known for its favourable weather conditions football wise. We need forwards who can cut it during the summer not in winter!

I hear Corrigan from Cavan Gaels is being brought is as an adviser this will be a huge addition to what is all ready a defunct management.

Games 3 to 7 in the League schedule, we need to give any promising forwards a proper go. 5 games at that time of year is a fairer basis then 3 in high winter.

Corrigan will have lots of time on his hands now seen as his isn't with the Gaels anymore !!!

Kildare Blue, unfortunately we need to be winning those games.

Impressing in the McKenna Cup is what a new enthusiastic player should be aiming for.

Anyway, I'm not sure that there are many players not involved that deserve a go except for the few that opted out last year and maybe some young lads coming through.

We will agree to disagree, would rather be winning from mid May onwards, not easy for anwone to impress during a snow storm in January though!

Cant see Corrigan getting involved with his sons playing for Fermanagh.

In the current Club Championship campaign, there weren't too many County Players that actually stood out, Martin Reilly being one exception.
Forde and McHale are the only ones to step down, Downes going in as a selector along with the guy that that recording all the matches last year (not sure credentials videoing a match gives you)...
As for Corrigan, didn't hear him mentioned, but given the Gaels exit last week, Corrigan has to take some of the blame for that.
But fear not lads, Terry the man will still be in charge...Cavan Football is in good hands....

Hard to blame Corrigan for the Gaels getting bet last week considering he only took over the team at the end of June. You can only do so much with a team in that space of time. Hope Corrigan stays with the Gaels and we can judge him and them after next years championship. Can't see him getting involved in Cavan set up either way. I would like to see Niall Lynch getting the u21 Job and a selectors role with the senior team. He seems to get the best out of a players and is tacitly astute too

Skelling - How many games did you go to in this years Championship? You could count on one hand how many of the current County squad stood out.

But I will say something...some of the attacking, free flowing football has been a joy to watch, and unless Hyland changes his ways very quickly, we'll be back in Division 3 in no time.
As for the McKenna Cup, there were a few player who played a few games in it that didn't make the eventual squad, but played very well with the their clubs.

You must be joking in my opinion, he Lynch put Cavan back ten years when training them let's not bring him back to do another ten year's damage. Keep him miles away from the County setup. Don't get carried away by their win last week there is nothing out there as the senior standard has dropped so low. He won a title with Kingscourt did he bring them to the next level no and that speaks volumes about the standard in this county. Leave him where he is . Keep him well away from the county for he has not got what it takes with school boy's tactics.
Hard to blame Corrigan ??? Johnston was limping for nearly all the second half and he left him on the pitch. several players on the pitch were not up to it and he could not see what was wrong. If he even moved players about to try and spice it up I might agree with you but he did nothing.

Mowbar -get a few facts right - Niall Lynch never won a championship with Kingscourt so he couldnt bring them to the next level as you call it
