What a sickener. Donegal score a goal at the death to win. 1:07 to 10

That's a stinger! Last minute goal knocks us out. They replicated what we did to them last year. Hard luck lads. Sounds like we weren't at the races at all, at least for the first half.

Hard luck . It's tough to lose like this. Hope some of the U21s can make an impact on senior team.

Gutted for the guys. I don't feel Donegal stole it. I feel we gave it away after an unbelievable second half effort. With 90 seconds left we should have held onto the ball. In fairness we should have been dead and buried at half time and somehow only were behind by a point. Completely different Cavan after half time. Took the game to Donegal and for a long time they had no answer. Really thought we had it. Ciaran Brady was my MOTM, an unreal performance. I've never seen him play a bad game at either Minor, U21, or Cavan Juniors. The Donegal supporters beside us wished us all the best for the 5 in a row, I said the 2 point lead cliché and then Bam, a bullet from McHugh. Then the Donegal supporters were being wished well for the rest of the campaign all in the space of 2 minutes!!!!
Best of Luck to Donegal

First of all best of luck to Donegal, they have come out on the wrong side of the results against Cavan over the past 4 years. No disgrace losing by a late goal up in Donegal. Well done boys and hopefully you will make your mark at senior level for the County in the years ahead!

Hard to take when it happens so late. Now we know how Donegal felt last year. The magnificent run had to end sometime, so hopefully there will be plenty of appetite this time next year. Well done to all concerned over the past 5 years for lifting us all. No shame in defeat.

Very sporting from Cavan supporters , we did get lucky last night TBF . Four on the trot was some achievement . The future of Cavan football is very bright , you's will win a number of seniors very shortly . I've always said that Cavan are the most passionate football county in Ulster .

Wow that was disappointing. We'll miss those lovely Spring Wednesday nights in March and April up in Armagh and Enniskillen !
What a run though ? these guys owe us nothing, very disappointing the way it ended, we were robbed really ! Only thing is, we did the very same to them last year and came away with the cup !
It was an awful kick in the stomach really, I was speechless for a good while after the game.
On the drive home from Ballybofey the over-riding feeling was one of pride, a brilliant brilliant run in this competition dating back all of 14 games to the 2010 Ulster U 21 Final.
A few quick afterthoughts !
When I went into the ground - no programmes left (and I wasn't late !) what a disaster ?
First 20 mins thought we were very tentative, but by God did we not roar into that game, actually limited Donegal to two points between about the 17th minute and injury time when they got the goal.
Felt sorry for Conor Madden in a way, think the system didn't suit him. Strikes me as a quality footballer, but this system we play doesn't bring out the best in him.
The "system" we all know about has brought us all this U 21 success, but you would wonder when two quality forwards like Hayes and Madden are on the periphery ! that's my only concern !
The type of football we played last night, (and don't get me wrong, you nearly have no choice but to play that way against Donegal) means that when you DO counter from our very defensive system, you nearly must always score every single time, which we failed to do ! and don't forget they DID miss a peno as well.
Just throwing this in now lads, if you were offered (before last nights game) a choice between another Ulster U 21 title or survival in Division 2 of the NFL, what would you pick ? I know what my answer would be ?
Anyways onwards and upwards, and the future IS Blue (that is some Pat's College team by the way).

There you are Tyrone have to show us how to win an All Ireland U21.
Shows the difference in standard and the divide when it comes to the big day.
Congratulations to Peter Donnelly and Tyrone.

What a pity Tyrones terrible negitive tatics won through on the day... Tipp were very unlucky and only for their freetaker missing those last 2/3 frees they would surely have won... Another bad day for football...

The difference being that Tyrone have the quality to play this type of game, Cavan dont and have shown over the last few years that this type of game doesnt suit.

Whats even more tragic is that we now see County players playing with their clubs week in/week out and the defensive mentality
is now spreading on the club scene.

Deanmartin.... I could not agree more... I'd say we are in for a dour defencive pulling and draging matches in the Ulster Championship this year... It will be unwatachable...and I'd say the attendances will drop a lot... Nobody in their right sence of mind would pay in to see that rubbish...?? As for Cavan you are right they cant play this system but it will be very hard to right the wrong that has been imposed on them by the current set-up... I only hope in time to come that we dont look back on this era as a total missuse of talent...
