I can't see why we'd worry too much about the upcoming game with Roscommon. It's the Croke Park one that is important and it's not very important in my opinion. As regards the rumours, there's never any shortage of them in the GAA and not just in Cavan, it's everywhere.
Strange decision to move the U21 game to Armagh.

Well its good thinking for the first round of the Ulster Senior championship is there so I expect it will be to Cavan's benefit to familiarise themselves with the venue.

Killian Clarke and Michael Argue are the only u21s who have been involved with the Seniors this, McVeety was injured so probaly would have too. I dont think the a couple of u21s having played there, will be a big difference for the Senior championship game in Armagh to be honest.

Cavan played the Mckenna Cup final there anyway so have had a bit of a familiarisition with it this year.

Just thoughts going through my head and it will do no harm. I don't think there was a choice here was there.

It was a strange choice of venue, when Enniskillan (Fermanagh) is suitable for both counties, bordering Cavan and Monagahn but its there now
Be nice to get a victory against the Rossies on Saturday, they have had the upper hand over Cavan in the last few years, would be even better to do the double and beat them in Croker too.

guys, we wont beat roscommon. look at their scoring stats against the same teams that we struggled against. They are far superior to us at this moment in time. I reckon they will give Mayo a run for their money in Connaght this year.

Scoring a lot and also conceding a lot, conceded 4-10 against Fermanagh, Cavan haven't conceded a goal in 5 games of the League.

Totally agree Roscommon are a fabulous team in attack but their defence and midfield have been minced by many teams in this league. Now that hasn't mattered because they've scored more then the opposition so far, but they are about to come up against a defence that's tighter then a Scotsmans purse. It should be an interesting contrast as we are the exact opposite, fantastic in defence but dissappointing so far in attack (Martin Dunne needs another sunny summer). Either way the match in Croker is the more important encounter as it will be the full Roscommon team that day and it will be our last chance to get a decent competetive game in before Armagh.

Strong team named. Best of luck to the players and management tomorrow evening. The game means very little, but it would be nice to keep the winning run going, however a loss is not the end of the world. We are where we want to be at this moment in time i.e. promoted, and with a league final on the way.

In looking at the results and looking at head to head results against the same teams ...Fermanagh, Longford, Wexford(I discounted the offaly results, as a statistical blip for both teams)
the average score line for Roscommon 1-16 to 2-9 (averaging a 4 point win)
the average score line for Cavan 1-10 to 0-9 (averaging a 4 point win)
two very evenly matched teams,

s goldrick we a have a bit to go before we are challenging a seasoned and experenced side like Mayo. Dublin are probably the only side that will likely topple them this summer.

I know both sides was done their best to talk up this weekends game but tbh little sleep will be lost by whoever loses. This game and round 7 will be used to test the panel to see who can impress before the championship.

We have made nine changes for Sunday a few more are expected come throw in time. The league stats won't count for much this Saturday but here they are.

Cavan
Average scored 14 points
average conceded 9 points

Roscommon
average scored 22 points
average conceded 13 points

For all the goals we have conceded our average total is decent enough and the last side to score a league goal against Cavan was us couldn't happen again could it?

Has any named team actually started a league game...I douth it so it will hardly change this week-end... Its something I can never understand. The last 2 lg games are dead rubbers for both teams which has not happened too often I would say in the league before....?

My mistake; I thought the game with Monaghan was already fixed for Brewster and then changed. I have no problem with the Armagh venue, I think both the seniors and U-21s play a game that suits them, not the venue and that's progress. The championship is a whole different ball game and I think Armagh will be under pressure from their own supporters seeing that its a home game for them. I think it'll be a very close contest no matter where they meet. Our lads have a huge amount of experience now and won't be phased by anybody as they showed in Derry last year when the chips were down.

Championship is a while away yet,8th of June. But yeah Armagh will be under pressure to perform in front of their home fans ,after the critism the team and management got last year after the Cavan game..

Focus for Cavan now is winning the 2 remaining games and hopefully the League final.

I think tomorrows evenings game will be interesting, i think Roscommons forwards will get frustrated with our defences and they wont have a plan B, great to be able to give the other guys a chance on the panel, it will be good to see how Conroy goes ive a feeling he will do well,, hopefully the forwards are on target, it would be good to see the style we play come good , especially against our bogie team !!! Cavan ABU!

notimpressed i agree that Cavan and Ros are 2 evenly matched teams and im looking forward to the games between the sides. I have a problem with your calculation though. The Fermanagh games you compare, Cavan played them at home and they were without the Quigley brothers who scored 3 goals and 4 points and set up more in a game we were lucky to win. We played them away and at full strength Its a big point that is been ignored as they are probably the best forwards in the division. The question has to be asked if they were available for every game would Fermanagh be looking for promotion instead of been dragged into a relegation battle.

Fermanagh are in complete disarray and in deep ship. Issues once again with certain players best to get rid and plan for the future with new blood

especially against our bogie team

So you only have to win two games against a side to become a bogie team? you should check the results between the sides in 2010,2009
