All-Ireland Hurling Preliminary Quarter-Finals - 3 Like(s)
So Tipp and Dublin can win one game each and still be in the all Ireland. So you play all those group matches to eliminate just two teams. Think the bigger counties are getting enough protection as it is.

Replying To old yellar:  "Yes, I feel that now too....! Unbelievable game. It had it all. And the mouse was worth the 20 alone."
Mouse in my opinion gave one of the best performances ever seen in the county grounds today. He was unbelievable. Some result considering they had no Jack Kavanagh and 45minutes without Ger Coady.

Unreal performance yesterday and no more than the whole group deserved. Support was fantastic. Now we need the County board to step up and start giving proper funding and support to hurling in the county. Time and time again the hurlers deliver. This is a massive chance to really push the hurling and sow the seeds for future generations. Probably need some really strong hurling men sitting on the board to at the very least balance the scale.

Hasn't being decided yet. Not even sure if it's up for discussion. Knowing our lot, we will hear a few weeks before seasons start.

Replying To hurleronthestool:  "just reading some the messages on this and I just want to start by saying I fully agree that sectarianism racism etc has no place in our games. However there is one major issue I have with this incident. Why have none of the down players come forward to support their manager or condone what was allegedly said to them? It's a major red flag to me that this came to light via a tweet which is actually only in reply to another comment and was picked up on by social media outlets. If this incident took place then the down set up should have gone through the appropriate channels. As someone who has been involved in Carlow hurling all my life I was extremely disappointed to hear of these allegations- however jumping to conclusions without proper investigation is not a road we should be going down. To be clear I'm not saying it didn't happen it just seems very odd how the manager has gone about approaching the situation and the lack of any real evidence or support from his players is eye brow raising in my opinion."
At last someone's talking sense. Surprising how many lad's here came down very hard on the lad's without hearing all the facts. Just to add aswell, the Down manager said had they lost the match he wouldn't have said anything. Seems Surprising, as the result shouldn't stop him if he feels that strongly about it.

Replying To carlo:  "Good win for our u20 hurlers today. After losing the minor game to Kerry it was very important to get the win today. Hopefully our Seniors can do it tomorrow against Laois. Promotion was the main aim but to win a trophy at home against the old enemy would be the icing on the cake. Best of luck lads"
Quietly impressed with 20s today. Nice balance to the team. I thought they worked the ball very well some lovely moves tru the lines and always getting their heads up. Didn't always work but but the right ideas nonetheless Probably will be bigger tests ahead. But a great start, for them and for the weekend.

NO WEBSITE - Carlow Gaa - 1 Like(s)

Replying To Dualclub1:  "It was bad enough having the worse twitter page for info in the country but now.... Its the year 2019, and Carlow Gaa have no website, no proper way of checking results/ fixtures or tables. So poor this day and age and so frustrating for all clubs"
Agree. Think it's really really poor form. Fair enough maybe down for a week or two, but it's down months now!! Just shows a total lack of ambition and respect to the many gales who like myself used it on a regular basis . Any of you guys here on Twitter? Maybe if they got enough tweets to their account that might force them into getting it sorted.

Experimental Rule Changes Proposed For Gaelic Football - 1 Like(s)
How many average club goalkeepers can kick the ball past the 45 consistently. Add in a stiff wind and they are really in trouble. Can't see that one working. How many handpasses did Meath make for one of the most famous goals of all time against the dubs in 1990. Good handpassing moves can be great to watch.

We can't underestimate how important that win was in terms of this season and next. Two more wins and they're guaranteed div 1b next year. These lad's are really laying big foundations for Carlow hurling. Really important the county board put some serious resources into underage hurling to keep us up there. Unfortunately that's not the case at the moment. Really hope we don't look back in year's to come and regret not doing more. I know money is an issue, but maybe if we keep banging on the door of the leinster council they might eventually help us out financially to put structures in place. For now it's great to enjoy the talented team we have. They have given us brilliant days out and no doubt many more to come.

Hurling team put in some performance today, even if Down were poor. Carlow have some serious forwards and more to come back. Seem to be making good progress. Pity they couldn't get some more support both from supporters and county board level. We really produce some top class hurlers.

Replying To Overthebar53:  "Anyone at this today. Are we taking it easy since securing promotion or were we just not good enough. Let's hope it's the former. It was some hiding."
Hard to know really. Looked well in it at half time after a slow start. Then mouse scored a cracking goal to put us in front. Then laois replied straight away with a goal and we completely stopped hurling. Couldn't win a puck out for the next 20 minutes, and laois really made us pay for that scoring every time they attacked. Mind you the wind was very strong. We tried to run in goals after that when at times there was a easy point for the taking (same in the 1st half) So between that and a bad day from the frees we ended up on the wrong side of 13pts. Laois are a big physical team and well able to hurl. I Think they will win the Joe Mac. As for Carlow, they will need huge improvement. I have doubt they will. Loads to be learned from today. Just hope they have time.
