Laois will face neighbours Carlow in next weekend’s Allianz Hurling League Division 2A final after recording an emphatic 1-24 to 0-13 victory over Down in Portlaoise this afternoon.

Having led by nine points after the opening half, the O’Moore men ensured their decider berth once Paddy Purcell smashed to the visitors’ net on 43 minutes as they went on to record a 14-point win.

In Letterkenny, Tyrone edged a thrilling contest against Donegal by 5-9 to 3-14 to book their spot in the Division 2B final against Derry in seven days’ time.

In the end, it was points from substitute Rory Weir and Cormac Munroe down the home stretch that saw the Red Hands claiming victory as Donegal saw a late chance from Luke White tail just wide.

Sligo set-up an all-western showdown with Mayo in the Division 3A final thanks to a 0-22 to 1-14 win against Cavan on the Kingspan Breffni 3G, while Warwickshire moved into the Division 3B decider against Fermanagh after pulling off a 1-16 to 1-12 come-from-behind victory over Longford at Pearse Park.
