Lilywhites have point to prove - Feely

Kildare's Kevin Feely dishes off a pass during the All-Ireland SFC qualifier against Fermanagh

Kevin Feely says Kildare have a point to prove in the Super 8s.

The Lilywhites have been pitted in Group One against Kerry, Galway and Monaghan - all of whom inflicted defeats on them in Division One of the national league during the Spring as Cian O'Neill's charges suffered relegation.

Since losing their championship opener to Carlow, Kildare regrouped to defeat Derry, Longford, Mayo and Fermanagh in the Qualifiers, claiming their place in the inaugural Super 8s. And still with a point to prove:

"It's basically back to where we were in Division One of the league," Athy clubman Feely told The Irish Daily Mirror. "We'll have a lot of the analysis done already for a lot of these teams. That's going to be very helpful.

"And we'll have in the back of our minds that we let ourselves down in a lot of those Division One games. Not all of them, but some of them we let ourselves down performance wise. So we'll have a massive point to prove going into every single game we play in the Super 8s."
