Kilkenny CBS (Kilkenny) 2-12

Presentation College, Athenry have become the first Galway school to qualify for a Croke Cup final since 2004 after they staged a remarkable comeback win over Kilkenny CBS in today's All-Ireland Post Primary Schools senior hurling 'A' semi-final in Ferbane.

Goals from Eoin Caulfield and Mark Kennedy helped Athenry come from 10 points down to win by four and set up a final showdown with either Ardscoil Ris of Limerick or St. Kieran's College, Kilkenny.

Boosted by goals from Luke Hogan and Jamie Ryan, Kilkenny CBS held a commanding 2-9 to 1-2 lead at the interval, but Athenry had the gap down to four points, 2-6 to 2-10, midway through the second half before going on to complete an unlikely comeback.

Adam Brett had raised a green flag for Presentation in the first half and they gradually clawed back the deficit when assisted by the wind in the second half, with Galway All-Ireland minor winner Conor Walsh playing a starring role.

Caulfield and Kennedy scored goals in the 44th and 49th minutes before Kennedy eventually levelled. Eoin O'Donnell then edged Athenry in front before Caulfield's second major in injury-time secured the win.
