Return to Play - Juniors

After what feels like an eternity, we warmly welcome the news that our junior footballers can commence organised training for the season ahead. First up will be a revised mini-league competition where we are included in a group that contains St. Paul's, Rosemount, Athlone and Garrycastle. These leagues are to commence on the weekend of 8/9th June.

Return to Play - Underage

We invite all players from U7 to U17 to register with our underage team, Lilliput Gaels, for the coming year. Here you can learn the skills of gaelic football, keep fit and stay active, meet new friends and have fun. All of our coaches and mentors are qualified and vetted. New players are very welcome to join. Our U7-U11's train in Castletown on Monday evenings at 18:15 so just turn up and our mentors will look after you from there. Our U13-U17's train in Ballinagore as follows: U13's on Mondays at 18:30, U15's on Wednesday at 18:15, U17's on Wednesday at 19:30 and Sunday at 10. Again, new players are welcome and invited to come along where you will be looked after.

Pitch Development

Work is due to pick up pace on our new training pitch in the coming weeks. The site is presently fenced off and we ask all parents, mentors and everybody attending our grounds to adhere to signage, to not enter the area under development and to pay particular attention to our younger visitors who may be attending our grounds. Some additional works around our main pitch are due to take place in the coming weeks. We will try to minimise the impact that this will have on training but please understand that these are essential works as part of the overall development so we will ask for your patience and co-operation in this regard. Team mentors will be advised as details are finalised.

Green Kilometre

Well done to these who have signed up already to help clean up our area under this scheme. So far we have had clean ups in Toarlisnamore, Cloonagh and Cloneyheigue. Who will be next to sign up and continue the good work? We are looking for volunteers to take a walk in their area and do a litter pick. Bags, pickers, Hi-Vis vests, gloves etc will be provided and the bags of litter will be collected. If you want to be part of this initiative then please contact Liam McDaniel, Mark King or Paul Seery who can assist.

School Clothing Collection

Our National School Parents Council are having a clothes collection in a few weeks. If you have any bags you wish to donate, please bring them into the school by 3pm on Wednesday 26th of May as they are being collected early the next day. It is a great way to raise funds for our Parents Council and Bag2School donate an additional 10% of what we raise to the LauraLynn House, which is an amazing Charity. Please spread the word and your support is very much appreciated.

Sympathy

We extend our deepest sympathy to the O’Brien family, Balrath, on the sad passing of Ger O’Brien on Sunday. May he Rest in Peace.

Get Well

We send our best wishes for a speedy recovery to both Jerome Robinson and Amy Seery who are laid up with leg injuries at the moment, hopefully not for too long!

New Arrival

Congratulations to Ciaran and Denise Pettit on the recent birth of their baby daughter, Niamh.
