Johnny Hannify RIP

Sad news greeted the club on Sunday 4th April with the passing of Johnny Hannify who had passed after a short illness. Johnny was a large part of St Josephs GAA especially in Scór for the past 30 years and he certainly will be missed by all of us who knew him. The Longford native was a member of the very successful Scor Quiz team since 1991 along with Dick Stokes and Aidan Walsh and other members in recent years including Enda Seery,Ciaran Reynolds,Darragh Fallon and Anselm Conlon. Johnny was one of the members of the All Ireland Quiz winning team of 2003 and took part in Scór up to and including last year when the competition was suspended due to the ongoing pandemic. A lot has been written in the past week about Johnny and certainly we as a club appreciate the good will towards him. He will be sorely missed as a competitor,mentor,community man and friend to many people. At his funeral on Tuesday, club Scór members formed a guard of honour and his coffin was draped in Scór and Club flags. To his son Ivan, his grandchildren, his sister and brothers and extended family and friends we extend our sincere sympathy. Ar dheis de go raibh a anim dilis.

Lotto Jackpot reaches €6000!

The most recent Lotto draw was held on Tuesday 6th April in the Community Centre with numbers 2,13,15 and 18 drawn out. No Jackpot winner and just one match three winner. The match three prize of €100 was won by MJ & Angela Mc Cormack. Next draw is on Sunday 18th April at 8pm.

Success of Community Draw.

Well done to the organisers of the Pitch development draw held on Sunday 4th April. Horseleap Streamstown community Association got huge support for the draw where all 300 tickets were purchased. All winners went local and we in St Josephs look forward to the new works commencing hopefully in the very near future.

Return to Play:

With a marginal reopening of activities commencing this week, we are hopeful that permission will be given to commence underage training with effect from 26th April. Full confirmation has to be received but we are working along with our sister club St Josephs LGFA to have a full and safe restart once the go ahead is given. Please note that with the planned commencement of work at the Community field that alternative venues are being sourced. An announcement on those arrangements will be made on our facebook page and through mentors as quickly as all arrangements have been finalised.
