Garrycastle club notes

October 12, 2020

Street Leagues

With Sunday morning scheduled for the final round of Garrycastle Street League matches, along with the end of season Nursery training, the organising committee made the difficult decision to postpone activities. However, to make sure the players great efforts during a short but enjoyable season were fully recognised, the Club was delighted to host the Garrycastle GAA Drive Thru Medal iPresentation.  With parents and players remaining in their cars, the squads drove around the Club grounds, showing their colours as they collected their medals and goodie on the way out.

Thanks once again to all the players, parents and guardians for their support and understanding during the season, and a huge thanks as always to our volunteer coaches who made sure we could return to play in a safe and responsible manner.

Sympathty

The club extends deepest sympathy to the Flannagan family Cornamaddy on the death of Attracta.

Clothes Collection

We will run another fundraising clothes collection - gather up any unwanted clothes, shoes and bags. Ask a club member about where to leave your bag.

Pitch Drainage

There is significant drainage work starting on the main pitch this week.  Due to the restrictions preventing club games and the forecast of good weather it is an appropriate time to be doing this essential  work.  Assuming good grass growth over the winter/ early spring the pitch should be back open for matches in March.
