Former Kilkenny star Jackie Tyrrell believes a more clinical approach from Galway can see them over the line against Kilkenny in Saturday’s All-Ireland senior hurling championship quarter-final.

The Tribesmen face the Rebels in Thurles after a below par showing against Brian Cody’s Kilkenny in the Leinster final less than two weeks ago.

Speaking on the RTE GAA podcast ahead of the showdown at Semple Stadium, Tyrrell says that Henry Shefflin’s side must take their goal opportunities when they come against the Leesiders this weekend.

"One thing Cork will do, they’ll still give you one, two, maybe even three opportunities of goals every weekend.

"Will Galway be more clinical, more ruthless in front of goal to take those opportunities?"

He added: "No better man than Henry Shefflin to drive home the point of ruthlessness this week."
