St Thomas’ were in ruthless form this afternoon as they crushed Gort with a 4-20 to 0-8 victory at Pearse Stadium to move into the Galway senior hurling championship final.

Originally fixed for November 7th, this semi-final clash was twice postponed as a result of a Covid-19 outbreak within the Gort squad.

James Regan’s goal helped St Thomas’ to lead by 1-10 to 0-5 at half-time and they’d hit the net three more times before the second water break.

Conor Cooney, Damien McGlynn and Oisin Flannery supplied the goals that had the scoreboard reading 4-15 to 0-7 and there’d be a 24-point margin at the finish.

St Thomas’ now face Clarinbridge in the final next Sunday week, December 5 at Pearse Stadium (throw-in 1.30pm), where they’ll be gunning for a fourth successive Tom Callinan Cup.
