Goalkeeper Donal Tuohy has left the Clare senior hurling squad.

The Crusheen clubman featured between the posts in the Banner County's run to the 2018 All-Ireland SHC semi-final but was unable to nail down the number one shirt under Brian Lohan.

The 31-year-old has cited a combination of "increasing work commitments and a number of recent injury struggles" for his decision to step away from the inter-county set-up.

"Donal Tuohy has announced today his stepping down from the Clare senior hurling panel for the 2021 season," Clare GAA said in an update on Twitter.

"Increasing work commitments and a number of recent injury struggles have made it difficult for the Crusheen man to maintain a consistent effort in training."
