Letterkenny IT sent University College Dublin crashing out of the Sigerson Cup last night with a 0-7 to 0-6 victory at the Donegal Training Centre in Convoy.

Joel Bradley-Walsh struck the winner for the hosts with a converted mark in injury-time, advancing his side to the quarter-finals while dumping out the 2018 champions in the process.

Aaron McClements’s 45 had given UCD the lead in the first-half but they’d fall 0-3 to 0-1 behind with Bradley-Walsh and Conor O'Donnell to the fore.

UCD did manage to draw the game level at 0-6 apiece down the home stretch before Bradley-Walsh’s late intervention sent them packing and Maxi Curran’s lads through to the last eight.

The night’s other Round 3 clash saw Armagh forward Conor Turbitt weigh in with eight points as Queen’s University, Belfast defeated Carlow IT by 0-17 to 0-16.

Pat Critchley’s IT Carlow had led by 0-9 to 0-8 at the halfway stage on their own home turf but the Belfast students produced the goods in the final quarter with Turbitt on fire to see out victory.

Queens University and Letterkenny IT now join UL, NUI Galway, DCU and MTU Kerry in the quarter-finals, with two more Round 3 games tonight (Wednesday) seeing Ulster University take on MTU Cork and Maynooth University play St Mary’s College Belfast.
