Basketball success for Donaghy

From the pitch to the court, Kieran Donaghy is still going strong.

Kieran Donaghy put the disappointment of Austin Stacks’ recent Munster club SFC final defeat to St Finbarr’s behind him by savouring basketball success on Saturday night.

The Kerry legend, who is coming up on his 39th birthday, played a crucial role as Garvey’s Tralee Warriors – a club he helped to set up in 2015 – defeated C&S Neptune from Cork 88-75 in the Pat Duffy Men’s National Cup final at the National Basketball Arena in Tallaght.

Fittingly, Donaghy accepted the cup on behalf of the team along with team-mate Fergal O’Sullivan and revealed afterwards that he has no plans to hang up his boots just yet.
