A Stephen Sherlock point four minutes into injury-time saw St Finbarr's snatch a tenth Cork senior football championship crown.

The city side just about edged Clonakilty thanks to Sherlock's seventh point in a dramatic final that finished on a 0-14 to 0-13 scoreline at Pairc Ui Chaoimh. They can now look forward to a Munster club SFC semi-final date against Loughmore-Castleiney or Eire Og Ennis next month.

Extra-time looked to be on the cards after Clon's Gearoid Barry had tied the sides for the eighth time in injury-time, however, with time almost up Barrs managed to muster a last ditch effort which full-forward Sherlock finished over the bar with aplomb.

Clonakilty - who were contesting their first premier football final since winning it against today's opponents - led by 0-2 to 0-4 after 19 minutes with Ross Mannix opening the scoring and Maurice Shanley even getting up from corner-back to split the posts.

However, they failed to score for the remainder of the half as Denis O'Brien and Stephen Sherlock (3) kicked points to leave Barrs 0-6 to 0-4 up at the interval.

With captain and man-of-the-match Ian Maguire driving them on from midfield, St Finbarr's were ahead by the narrowest of margins at the second water-break (0-10 to 0-9) as the underdogs came roaring back into the contest on the restart thanks to points from Dara O’Shea, scorer of 0-6 overall.
