Sligo huddle before their 2021 Connacht SFC clash against Mayo

Sligo attacker Red Óg Murphy says he won’t be lining-out with the Yeats County in 2022.

The Curry clubman, who had a stint playing with AFL outfit North Melbourne in late 2019, returned home in 2020 and featured in all of Sligo’s league and championship outings in the past two seasons.

Speaking to promote the Win a House in Sligo draw, Murphy confirmed that he will not be playing with the Yeats men next season as he looks to focus on club duties and his teacher training studies at DCU.

"I've decided that for this year coming I won't be going in with Sligo," he said. "I have plenty going on with my club and with DCU so that is going to be where my focus is.

"I'm not saying I'm done with county football, it's definitely not going to be my last year or anything. If I'm ever asked back in, it's always something you'd consider."
