Dromcollogher/ Broadford 0-10

 

A strong second half showing pushed Na Piarsaigh past  Dromcollogher/ Broadford in the Relegation Semi Final played Friday evening in a chilly Kilbreedy. Dromcollogher/Broadford will now play in the Relegation Final vs Galtee Gaels , on this coming Saturday October 3rd, in Kilmallock, at 1pm, referee to be announced.

 

Brian Ahern scored a lovely point to open the scoring for Dromcollogher/ Broadford and then Na Pairsaigh replied with a point to bring sides back on level terms for the first time during the game.  Cillian Fahy scored the next point off his left for Dromcollogher/ Broadford to give us back the lead and then Na Pairsaigh scored the next two points to take to lead for the first time during the game.  Garrett Noonan of Dromcollogher/ Broadford replied with a point from 35 yards to bring sides back on level terms for the third time during the game and then Na Piarsaigh scored the next point to give back the lead once again. James Molyneaux of Dromcollogher/ Broadford notched the next two points to give us back the lead at the water break and then Derry McCarthy scored a pointed free for Dromcollogher/ Broadford to give us a deserved lead of two points.  Na Piarsaigh scored the next two points to bring sides back on level terms for the fifth time during of what promised to be a tight game and then Derry McCarthy scored another pointed free for Dromcollogher/ Broadford to give us back the lead  by a point once again just before the end of the half.  To leave the score at half-time Dromcollogher/ Broadford 0-7 to Na Pairsaigh 0-6.

 

Denis Donegan of Dromcollogher/ Broadford landed a good score to provide the next point for Dromcollogher/ Broadford to give us lead by two points and then Na Piarsaigh scored the next point to leave a point between the sides.  Brian Ahern scored the next point for Dromcollogher/ Broadford to give us lead by two points. However, Na Piarsaigh grabbed hold of the game to score the next six points to give them a lead of four points.  Derry McCarthy of Dromcollogher/ Broadford replied with another pointed free for Dromcollogher/ Broadford to leave three points between the sides and then Na Pairsaigh scored the last point of the game to give them a lead of four points once again which they held onto despite some late Dromcollogher/Broadford pressure.

County Minor A Football Championship Quarter Final

 

Dromcollogher/ Broadford 5-9

Killacolla Gaels 4-8

 

This was a high scoring game between two evenly matched teams with Dromcollogher/ Broadford winning by four points on the night to setup a Semi-Final meeting with Adare.

 

Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the first 1-3 of the game with the goal coming from Kenny Lynch with 10 minutes gone in the game two of these points coming from Kenny Lynch and the other came from Brian Ahern from 45 and then Killacolla Gaels scored the two goals to bring sides back on level terms for the first time during with 12 minutes gone in the game. Edward Brennan of Dromcollogher/ Broadford to give us back the lead once again and then Killacolla Gaels scored the next two points to give them the lead for the first time during the game by a point.  Robert McCarthy scored the next goal of the game Dromcollogher/ Broadford with 23 minutes gone in the game to give us a lead of two points and then Killacolla Gaels scored the next two points to bring sides back on level for third time during the game.  Killacolla Gaels scored the next goal of the game with 31 minutes gone in the game and then Edward Brennan scored the next goal of the game for Dromcollogher/ Broadford to bring sides back on level terms with 33 minutes gone in the game to bring sides back on level terms for the fourth time during the game just before the break. To leave the score at half-time Dromcollogher/ Broadford 3-4 to Killacolla Gaels 3-4.

 

Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the first two points of the second half and these points came from Ryan Reidy and Brian Ahern and then Killacolla Gaels scored the next 1-1 of the game with 35 minutes gone in the game, with the goal coming from penalty.  Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next 1-3 of the game to give us the lead by four points with the goal coming from Edward Brennan, his second of the game, with 46 minutes gone in the game with the all three points coming from Brian Ahern all coming from frees and then Killacolla Gaels scored the next point of the game to leave a goal between the sides.  Robert McCarthy of Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next goal of the game, his second of the game, to lead by six points with 54 minutes gone in the game and then Killacolla Gaels scored the last two points of the game to give us victory of four points on the night and to setup a Semi-Final meeting with Adare.

Dromcollogher/ Broadford 0-3

 

This was a very tight game with both sides missing a lot of scores on the night, with Adare leading by 0-5 to no score at the break, and then in the second half Adare scored 0-4 to our 0-3 and the above club to thank the manager Maurice McCarthy and the players for their effort in the year gone by led by Graham Roche captain.

 

Adare scored all five points of the first half to lead by five points at the break. To leave the score at half-time Adare 0-5 to Dromcollogher/ Broadford no score.

 

Graham Roche of Dromcollogher/ Broadford replied with the next point to leave four points between the sides and then Adare scored the next point to leave five points between the sides once again.  Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next two points coming from Edward Brennan and Lee Foley (free) to leave goal between the sides and then Adare scored the last three points of the game to win by six points and setup the final with Crecora/ South Liberties.

U12 Football Notes

On the 24th September our footballers took on a very fancied Monagea side. Our boys were really tuned from the word go with the team playing some excellent football and getting some brilliant scores. U12 Hurling Notes

On Thursday night our hurlers travelled to Feenagh to take on the local team. This game was played in lovely sunshine. Our boys started slowly with the local team getting a few early scores. With Dromcollogher/ Broadford trailing by 5 points in the second half but our boys really chased every ball hassled for everything and we're rewarded by getting some great scores from play and there was some brilliant free taking. This game was in the melting pot right up to the final whistle with Dromcollogher/ Broadford coming out on top by 1point on a scoreline of Dromcollogher/ Broadford 1-14 Feenagh/ Kilmeedy 3-7. This keeps our boys undefeated in this competition so far. Well done to all our supporters for turning out in great numbers. The line out was as follows: J. Lenihan, S. Browne, D. O’Connell, D.J.
