U15 Championship Winners: Pride of place this week must surely be our successful U15 team which won the U15 Div 3 championship on Saturday morning last against Inniskeen in Drumhowan winning on a score line of 4-14 to 1-9. This was a comprehensive and magnificent performance from start to finish and credit to the management team of Derek O Neill, Mickey Murtagh and the Wilson brothers Dale and Joel. The boys led from start to finish and denied anything Inniskeen threw at them. In the first half the  boys started off with a Christopher Geoghegan point followed by a James Connolly goal and there were further points by Team captain Bobby Mc Caul and Dylan Bannigan to leave it 1-3 to 0-1 at the first water break. Into the second quarter Aughnamullen's continued with further scores by Cillian Traynor after good work by Justin Dooley & 3 more points by Capt Bobby and at half time the blues led by 1-8 to 0-3. As you can see from the half time score Aughnamullen led by 8 but the margin could have been a lot closer except great goalkeeping by Conor Mc Mahon and defending of the highest order by Oran Mc Ardle & Luke Johnston in the full back line ably assisted by the aforementioned Traynor and the excellent Luke Phillips and midfield partnership of Mc Caul and Jack Loughlin. In the second half Aughnamullen were dealt a blow when Inniskeen scored a goal but credit to the boys in blue came flying up the field with 2 Bobby Mc Caul goals and a brilliant individual goal by Callum Hughes who put us up 4-10 to 1-6 at the second water break. At this stage Aughnamullen looked home and dry and the boys chipped away with a few more scores to win in the end. This was a complete team performance not only for the boys on the field but the full panel of 17 who put in a tremendous effort all year. Finally a special word of thanks to U15 first aid person and U15 Covid officer Rosemary Johnston.

Commentary: As Juvenile competitions for Aughnamullen are now over for the year a special word of thanks to 2 men who done Commentary at the U13, U15 & U17 Finals. The 2 men in question i.e. Martin Mc Mahon & Paddy Markey stepped in when asked, although both men are not shy at coming forward when asked to talk. Both men done a fine job.

Reserves: Our Reserve recorded an excellent result on Saturday last when they defeated Magheracloone by 1-11 to 0-10. The lads led from start to finish. In the first scores came thick and fast and at half time led by 1-4 to 0-5. In the second half the trend continued with Aughnamullen pulling away in the final few minutes.

However following the GAA decision on Monday suspending club fixtures for the time being. No update on next game.

Sincerest sympathy is extended to his wife Eileen sons Stephen & daughter in law Rosie, Barry & his partner Amanda, Paul & his partner Una all his cherished grandchildren brothers, sisters and extended families may god have mercy on his soul.

Also to Charlie & Ina Hegan Baraghy on the death of Charlies sister Irene Weir Latton may god have mercy on her soul.
