Corduff Gaels
Level 3 Covid-19 Restrictions:
As the country once again has more restrictions imposed due to the rapid increase in positive Covid cases the GAA has issued the following statement:
A Rúnaí a chara,
The GAA’s Management Committee has today endorsed a decision to suspend all GAA Club games at all levels with immediate effect and until further notice.
The decision has been taken in the interest of public safety following a number of incidents that have been brought to our attention in recent days. In particular, post-match celebrations and a lack of social distancing at certain events have proved disappointing and problematic.
This directive applies to all ages and all grades across the island.
Club Social Centres / bars are also to close.
Training will continue to be permitted as per the guidelines outlined for the relevant levels in the Government's National Framework for Living with Covid 19 and relevant guidelines in the Six Counties.
The GAA will continue to monitor the situation in the coming days and weeks, regarding changes in government guidelines, before liaising with our units accordingly.
The Association would also like to acknowledge all of those units who have worked diligently in complying with the public health advice around the staging of our games and training sessions since activity resumed.
More than ever, we ask that you continue with this approach where training sessions for your players is continuing.

Championship Saturday:
Corduff Ladies: U14 Division 3 Championship:
On Saturday afternoon last Cremartin was the venue for the Division 3 U14 decider between Corduff and Emyvale and what a thrilling match it was.
The game started at a hectic pace as Emyvale controlled possession from the throw-in registering their first score in the first minute. They continued launching attack after attack but Corduff’s strong defence and Emyvale’s wayward shooting prevented them adding to the 1st minute score until the 7th minute by which times Corduff had registered their first point. Both sides traded scores with a smashing goal by Corduff in the 12th minute putting them ahead by the first water break on a scoreline of 1-2 to 0-4. Indeed the game could have been over by the 1st water break were it not for solid defending by Corduff and wayward shooting by Emyvale. While Emyvale’s shooting let them down Corduff were more accurate and economical at the other end. Emyvale’s attacking prowess continued after the first water break scoring 1-01 putting them ahead and holding Corduff scoreless for the 2nd quarter on a scoreline of 1-2 to 1-05 at the halftime mark.
Corduff came out after halftime all fired up and their response was superb as another super goal levelled matters nullifyiny Emyvale’s advantage. In seasaw motion Emyvale levelled matters again. By the second water break Emyvale’s dominance was becoming more apparent once again leading 2-08 to 2-03. From here on Emyvale continued to stretch their lead but fair play to Corduff, their effort never failed as their defence remained solid. A late Corduff goal did narrow the margin but Emyvale were over the line at that stage and eased to victory. Corduff have to be commended on their effort in this match. When the sides last met earlier in the season Emyvale inflicted a massive defeat on Corduff so based on last Saturday’s result Corduff definitely improved game on game. However Saturday belonged to Emyvale on a final score of 3-11 to 3-04 but Corduff girls came certainly hold their heads high after this team performance.
Massive thanks to management Derek, Hannah, Niamh, Sinéad and Ann on their time and commitment to the team all year and full credit to you all on transforming this team to a brilliant, competitive group of players. The future certainly looks bright.
