Scotstown 1-14
Ballybay 0-7
Scotstown stormed to their fifth Monaghan SFC title in six seasons at Clones this afternoon when handing Ballybay a ten-point beating.
Playing in their eighth consecutive Mick Duffy Cup decider, Colin McAree's outfit outscored the Pearse Brothers by 1-6 to 0-1 in the second-half. A 62nd minute Conor McCarthy goal put the seal on their victory.
With Ballybay racing 0-3 to 0-0 clear after eight minutes following points from Tiernan McSkean, Chris McGuinness and Paul Finlay, Scotstown recovered from a sluggish start to hold a 0-8 to 0-6 interval lead.

The eventual winners were reduced to 14-men before the break when Frank Caulfield was dismissed on a black card but Ballybay failed to take advantage of an extra man at the start of the second-half and themselves lost Brent Wylie to one.
