Kilmessan are once again Meath Senior Camogie Champions after a thrilling 2-10 to 2-7 victory over Na Fianna on Saturday in Trim. A goal, with two minutes remaining by Katie Ni Choileain rounded of a brilliant comeback and performance from the reigning champions.

A player of the match performance from dual star Megan Thynne and five points from Aileen Donnelly paved the way for the victors who had it far from their own way as Na Fianna, led by Leah Devine and Erin Leddy pushed Kilmessan to the pin of their collar.

Na Fianna led throughout, opening the scoring through an Erin Leddy goal. A second goal, on twenty minutes from Maire Kirby gave Na Fianna a slim 2-3 to 0-7 lead. The sides were level just before the second water break when Kelly Gorman hit the back of the net for Kilmessan. In a gripping final quarter Donnelly, narrowly missed a second half penalty but held her nerve with a free minutes later to draw the game level once again before Gorman and Ni Choileain combined for the all-important goal which proved to be the difference after an thrilling hour of Camogie.
