Mayo have named two debutants in their side for tomorrow's Allianz Football League opener versus Down at MacHale Park.

Garrymore's Enda Hession and Westport's Rory Brickenden will make their first league starts for the county and are just two of six changes to the side which lined out in the All-Ireland final defeat to Dublin five months ago.

The Connacht champions' main absence is captain and talisman Aidan O'Shea, who reportedly suffered a serious injury to his knee in training recently.

Mayo (Allianz FL Division 2 v Down): Rob Hennelly; Enda Hession, Oisin Mullin, Lee Keegan; Michael Plunkett, Paddy Durcan, Rory Brickenden; Matthew Ruane, Diarmuid O’Connor; Fionn McDonagh, Kevin McLoughlin, Jordan Flynn; Tommy Conroy, Cillian O’Connor, Ryan O’Donoghue.
