The third level GAA competitions are unlikely to be played in 2021.

With third level study taking place remotely, it would have been a huge challenge to organise the competitions but the current Covid restrictions introduced in recent days mean the window for the Fitzgibbon and Sigerson Cup competitions to take place has been lost.

Both competitions were scheduled to take place in the coming months before intercounty action resumed.

The 2020 editions of both Cups were one of the few GAA competitions not to be affected by the Covid-19 outbreak.

DCU claimed the Sigerson title in January with UCC winning the Fitzgibbon Cup final on 12 February.
