Mayo have retained the Connacht SFC title - and are through to a tenth All-Ireland semi-final in eleven years - as they turned in a superb second-half performance to beat Galway by six points - 2-14 to 2-8.

James Horan's men had it all to do at half-time when they trailed 2-5 to 0-6, and after tempers flared in the Croke Park tunnel, the Nestor Cup holders came out fired up and blew their opponents away. Ryan O'Donoghue (penalty) and man-of-the-match Matthew Ruane scored their goals as Galway were left rattled and without in 27 minutes.
