If they can't win they start the dirty stuff and kicking the opposition. I remember when they couldn't bate Tyrone and they started the puke football stuff like spoiled children. Made eejits of themselves really. It's just their way I suppose and can't be helped."
I was at the matches you think your talking about and I didn't see any kicking or dirty stuff as you say, no more than any team including own. Who told you they don't like Croke Park.

Exactly Mick, it's a lot better now with the motorway from limerick but still a long hard journey, hopefully in years to come they'll bypass Adare Newcastle West and Abbeyfeale it'll make it a little easier.

Geography is not really an excuse tbh..

Mayo fans flood the stadium at every opportunity and geographically we are only slightly closer than yourselves

Same with Donegal fans!

Go easy on catch. He or she will catch up with us sometime. We are all God's children regardless of our intellect.

I'm my experience Cork 'supporters' are the worst culprits for not turning up.

Replying To KingdomBoy1:  "There are about 1800 season ticket holders in kerry fridge so that's our core group of supporters that'll go to nearly 100% of all games. And then you'll have families on days out and the band wagoners.

Kerry is a tourist and farming county so lots of the young people would be working in bars hotels at weekends, depending on what kinda farming you're doing can make it more difficult also.

Not every1 in Kerry is a gaelic football fan, there are a lot of parishes in North Kerry that are hurling only and we'd often see during double headers in Austin Stack Park in Tralee that when the hurling match finish nearly all the hurling supporters get up and leave the stadium they won't watch the footballers.

A lot of the older generation would be staunch club supporters and will only follow their clubs and would only go to watch Kerry if 1 of their players were called up to the senior panel.

The distance is massive if you're travelling from South Kerry the halfway point in the journey is Adare in county limerick that's 10 miles at the Kerry side of limerick city, if you've ever been to South or West Kerry you'll know the roads aren't and with the gaa putting some games on at 4,5,6,and 7 o'clock in the evening doesn't help either.

Kilkenny who are the most successful hurling team in country don't really travel to games bar the final either and they haven't half the journey.

I know that's a lot of excuses but it's life down here."
Same in Dublin with Hurling and Football supporters, very few Dublin football fans would watch the hurling and in fairness its usually reciprecated by hurling fans.

Catch is obsessed with Kerry. Most Dubs I know are the salt of the earth but he is sad. Obviously took some games to heart. Most of catches posts are either pro Dub but mainly anti Kerry. If Cath was male I'd love to newt him in the ring.

Answer is fairly simple. Huge journey and the fact that they they have had so much success that big games in Croke Park is no novelty.

That's it I wouldn't be a big fan of the small ball but if it was on before a football match I'd watch it, to be honest I can't ever see the ball during a hurling match and really I just watch where the players are bunching and hope that's where the ball is, but it's a good game to watch on telly.

This is essentially it in a nutshell bdbuddah

I don't live in Kerry any more, I am much closer to Croke Park and can make games easily, but if I lived in South or West Kerry it would be a completely different story. It really is a grind to get up to a game and back down home the same day.

Success definitely does breed some complacency as well, but I think the distance and travel times is the main factor.

They didn't go to Croker this year so far, becoz none of their games were played there. It would be kind of silly of the Kerry crowd to go, so.

They'll be going from now on though, as they're in the semifinal and that's chalked down for CP. And they'll be going for the final too, as that Kerry team will easily account for whatever team comes out of Ulster.

I actually feel sorry for the team because they could do with the support. No fair on the players"
The same Mayo that haven't won an All Ireland in yonks....the fans go because they want to be there when it happens.
Seriously have you ever drove down the Kerry, or South Kerry. Its a serious trek if you're only leaving Croker at 6:00/6:30.
Why would they want the Munster Final played in Dublin ?

It's true that Kerry used to 'wait for the final' and the attendances at their All-Ireland semi-finals were
woeful.
But in fairness with the traffic, distance and costs these days its hard to blame them.
