Delighted for the 3 lads, some heroic performances and leadership shown by all three at key times in games. Holla particularly unlucky not to get in. Just noticed that jason mcloughlin didnt get a nomination which I find hard to believe given his consistency of performances! Onwards to this year and hopefully pushing on

Not a chance... We were extremely fortunate to get 3... Funny how in 1997 when we played Kerry and with better finishing (Peter and Larry missed two sitters) could have turned them over we only got 1 All Star (McCabe) who was picked out off position... While this year after a Semi we didn't come close to winning some think we deserve 5 All Stars... I think Tipperary are extremely unlucky to only get 1 award and should have much more to complain about than us.... Don't know how Dublin can get 9 for really only having to turn up for 1 match....!!!!

How can you say they only had to turn up to one match? They hammered Cavan and we got three all stars.
Mayo can feel hardest done by, only team who gave Dubs a game and ended up with only 2.

The Final was the only real game Dublin had to get up for as all the rest were cake walks.... Mayo were unlucky you are right but probably paid the price for their annual Final melt down... My point was that we were lucky enough to get 3 (as opposed to 1 in 97) no talk about some people thinking we might have had 5...!!!!

Tomsmith there

TheBlackDeath here

While it was a great campaign for the Breffni and I would have loved more of our lads to get All-Stars, three is probably a fair enough number all things considered.

Ciarán "The Holla" Brady maybe a bit unlucky. He had a great campaign, has really matured now and become a more disciplined defender while not curbing his attacking instincts - at times in the semi-final he was the only one trying to carry the game to The Dubs.

Jason McLoughlin was a model of understated dependable consistency, and unfortunately those types of players sometimes get overlooked (despite their importance to their teams) when it comes to individual awards.

Either way I'm sure the lads who missed out aren't too upset, as they've got a hard-earned Ulster medal and hopefully there'll be more of those to come.

If Larry had laid that ball off to him in the all ireland final then he'd surely have scored another goal.

Tomsmith,

You're a gas man. Coming up to 20 years and you're still reeling them in.
You're a fount of innovative ideas but who would you demote from the selection to accommodate additional Breffni men? Would you, for instance, replace Fenton with, say Gearóid McKiernan?

The gadfly here,

You're right Tom Smith from Cavan
We should have got not 2 but at least 4 more. Dublin weren't great were they? What do you think Tom Smith from Cavan.

The gadfly from Cavan here,

I've a question for Tom Smith from Cavan.

Tom, do you think like I do that the great Cavan Gaels legend of football and hurling Seanie Johnstone should have gotten an honourary all star this year to commemorate his achievements in both codes through the years.

The powers that be in Croke Park should have tabled a motion at the recent Congress to award a 16th All star to great man in my opinion.

It's actually nothing short of a disgrace that there wasn't more Cavan Gaels men on the Ulster Champions team last year. Do you think there is a vendetta taking place against the great Gaels men?

Thanks Tom.

It's a travesty. That's what it has. I'd swear he scored from the end line against Wicklow in breffini one day. Can't remember exactly. He came on as a sub and gave an exhibition. Were you there that day Tom Smith from Cavan?

When you respond to nonsensible comments people could mistakable feel that one is an idiot, Having said that gadly I will honour you with by simply saying that perhaps if more Cavan Gaels players were on the Cavan Team we would be much more powerful force.

The great Gaels of Cavan town were definitely underrepresented on the County setup last year. There should be at least 5 more Ulster Senior Championship
medals in the houses of the great Gaels of Cavan town.

I thought that with Micky being a former great he would have brought through a lot more of the town lads.

Who would you have brought in to the county fold for last years historic victory Tom smith?

Tomsmith here who supports Cavan Gaels probably Cavan.s if not Ulsters best team in past 20 years

Now Gadfly when I leave out my stall who I support ( I feel all posters should be compelled to do likewise) I feel Mickey Grahan was in the postion that if he played all the worthy contenders from the mighty Gaels club and say he lost the Ulster final with out the all the great Gaels players well he would be Personnel not Gratis in Cavan County. Thankfully he won Ulster and he dident play many Gaels players . Lets hope that it causes no rift and that we go on and lift the Anglo Celt Cup in 2021

The Gadfly here,

Let's hope so. We could be heading for 3 Ulster finals in a row. It's a big ask for us to claim our 41st title though. Monaghan, Donegal, Tyrone and possibly the orchard men of Armagh will all be tight beat.

If only Mickey could see sense and bring in a few more of the might Gaels men. There could be at least 5 more Ulster senior championship medals nestling in the bedside lockers of the half acre, killymooney and Ard na Greine.
