As I have said many times - Dublin supporters are blessed that so many came along at the same time for the Dubs which enabled our success during this past decade, and and they have now inspired many younger guys to take up the baton.
And yes, when he plays for BK he is 100% committed also. Always is.
The club still means so much to them all, and they all remain very grounded and very modest despite their collective and individual honours. You see it in the club with the county guys helping all the club players there. To be honest it is the most grounded Dublin squad many have ever seen. No prima donna's or air and graces about them...!
Hopefully the split season will see The Mun win a few more DSFC - and as has been said many times - Dublin's successful seasons has led to a jaded BK team in the club championship, with so many of the guys being the backbone to the Dublin team for so long during this period.
To quote a kerryman - James is "A real superstar"... ;o)
Hopefully he doesn't step away for a good while yet...!" James should and will get an all star i would think although with the alls stars one never knows and Yes James Jamsie Macker or just Mac is one of the true greats. Never met him but I've had a few pints with his Dad."

Yes James son of John Mccarthy a Garda based in Mountjoy for years. Played for both Na Fianna and Ballymun. Was sent off with Charlie Nelligan in 78 final but he asked ref not to send off Charlie. A good character is John.

Keith Higgins has called it a day. What a player he was. Just as good a hurler too. Seven Connacht titles and an NFL. A four time All Star proves how good he was. A shame he never got that All Ireland but he owes Mayo football nothing.

Surely Kerry can win one now." We had 2 retirements too but like Dublin's they were not guaranteed starters. None of Dublin's retirees were starters altho i would start Mannion myself. On Mayo only Clarke and Cathal Barrett Vere starters. On Keith Higgins I want to pay him my respect. Abrilliant versatile footballer.one of the best man markers in his day. Hope he enjoys his deserved retirement.

Wonderful player Keith Higgins, he will get the headlines for his football skill, but a great hurler to.
You don't see many defenders of his skills & competence these days, hard as as a bag of nails.
It's a pity players have to retire, but we're all the better for having seen them during the careers.
