If the beat on other with the hurleys for an hour or attacked the ref they would make headlines. Not that this would be a good thing. If they play an exciting game with magnificent score and top entertainment not a dickey bird. Like the others said, what can you do to promote it? What promotion does it merit? It's not like it's a big deal here in Meath and we're one of the participating counties, so how would a big deal be made of it nationally? They're 16 and 17 year olds with no national profile and who have played 1 game to get to the final. Now I'm sure they're giving their all and they can only play what games they're given (Lord knows, long ago I was on a Meath minor hurling panel...) but as was said above you can't just create interest out of thin air. Is there any sport that makes a major deal nationally of lower tier underage competitions? I follow the League of Ireland and couldn't tell you who the current U17s champion is, never mind in the B division (if there even is one). But at the same time I don't see anyone complaining that they aren't promoting it enough. This seems to just be a complaint for the sake of complaining.
