NHL Phoney War

Switch Galway for Clare and you have a 2nd Prov group phase (with a 6th Lein team added to both Provs) to accompany the Real Ones in the Summer.

This leads me to think - why not keep the existing Prov groups in Summer (each with a 6th team) and play the NHL 'inter group' (A v B) for pairing variety?
NHL KO still with 6 teams - best 2 of 12 records to SFs, next 4 to QFs (intra div KO where possible).

Nevertheless a fine game in Thurles to-night, with fringe players on both sides getting the chance to display their talents.

Certainly a decent spectacle for January. Not sure from a Tipp perspective we seen a huge amount from the new/younger guys.... Hopefully we will see Morgan ar corner back the next day and that Ger Browne gets a few full games in the league as well as getting game time into Brian Mcgrath and more games into Kehoe. For all Ronan Mahers talents I think he's not a natural full back so I'd like to see someone else tried there.
From a limerick point of view, I'm a big fan of Gillane as a hurler but he's not consistent enough on the frees. The likes of Forde, Horgan and Reid will only miss one or two in a season.

David Reidy was faultless against Cork in the Munster league Final from frees and yet he was not asked to take a single free tonight and if he had been it might have helped his game, as I think he is capable of much more, than he showed on this occasion.

It's not just Gillane the whole team seems to play in fits same last year where they have a 10 min blitz followed by 10 quiet or vice versa
