Some famous games from the 80’s plus the semi-finals of the AFLW are the TV highlights for this weekend.

11am: Cluichí na Bliana

A game that went right down to the wire was won after a last act strike by Shane Walsh, ensuring Tullaroan won the Intermediate AIB All-Ireland hurling final in Croke Park on January 18th 2020.

8pm: Meath v Cork, 1987 All-Ireland SFC final

The 1987 All-Ireland SFC Final was the 100th in GAA history and pitted Cork, who last won the title in 1973, against a Meath team who last lifted the Sam Maguire in 1967.

A second successive meeting of these two counties in the All-Ireland final.

Laochra Gael continues with the story of Cork dual star, Briege Corkery. With eighteen All Ireland medals and sixteen All Stars, Briege has won more than anyone in the history of Gaelic Games. She accepted two Sportswoman of the Year awards with humility and shyness. She was the ultimate team player. The life and soul of the dressing room, the lynchpin on the field, Briege collected her last All Ireland six months after giving birth to her son Tadhg. In the conversation about the greatest of all time, Briege Corkery is at the centre.

The 1997 Ulster SFC Final, played at St. Tiernach's Park in Clones, saw a Derry side featuring Joe Brolly take on Cavan, who last won the Anglo-Celt Cup back in 1969.
