Replying To Joxer:  "Are you actually saying that Small went in to connect with McLoughlin's head? If you are then you clearly have never played the game. It was a shoulder tackle. It's part of the game. Small meant no malice. A ref, linesman and commentators all agreed on that. It comes with the territory."
Are you conor Lane by any chance? Ridiculous frontal challenge. At best if mcloughlin didn't turn around the challenge would have been in the back and still dangerous. Steve wonder would have seen that was dangerous play.

Disgraceful Scenes At Half Time - 6 Like(s)

Replying To Galway9801:  "I always found that GPS incident to be ridiculously overrated tbh,, it was a bit naughty like but jeez,,"
I found it underrated. Some of the minor incidents over the years which have been highlighted and made into massive issues and here in an AI final the last kick of a game a player throws a gps tracker at the kicker. It's unreal and if any northern team done it the media would be calling for a life time ban. They were calling for mcanns head when he took an embarrassing dive in a game they were already winning. Imagine the uproar if he had done what Lee did. Easily one of the worst incidents in the last 10 years.

Disgraceful Scenes At Half Time - 6 Like(s)

Replying To Galway9801:  "McCanns dive was way worse imo. Throwing a little GPS tracker was more a spur of the moment thing, and we're all guilty of that, and provided no more of a distraction than a booing crowd and probably way less of a distraction than a taunting marker."
Diving is spur of the moment as it can happen in a spilt second. Lee had to go over to the side line get a GPS tracker, track back in line with Dean Rock and throw it as he was running past. There is far more thought process in that than simply falling to the ground.

Any chance a few days before this match that people might actually talk about the game rather than all this other BS.

Mayo V Tyrone All-Ireland Football Final - 4 Like(s)
Think that strikes me as being a bit unfair is that when tyrone beat Kerry and mayo the focus was on how did kerry or mayo play bad. It wasn't on that tyrone played well. Mayo or kerry didn't set out to lose and didn't play bad. When kerry or Dublin hammer teams the media fawn over how wonderful they are but when they get beaten its how did they play so bad.

Replying To CC2020:  "That's all sanctimonious bull. If you or I were about to lose a 4th or 5th all Ireland and playing flat out for 77min we might try and distract the opposition free taker. When someone calls this 'the lowest act' they've seen you know they are spoofing. What about Francie Bellew for Cross knocking out Mickey Linden's teeth playing for Mayobridge? Or Tadhg Kenneally targeting Nicholas Murphy with an elbow to the head in the first seconds of the 2009 All Ireland? Ciaran Duff kicking a Galway player in the head in 1983? The list is endless."
Ah come on now. You trying to tell me it wasn't a dirty action? So firing objects at a player trying to kick the winning point in an AI is OK as they have won loads? I remember the Tadhg Kenneally incident and thought for sure it was a straight red but the ref Bottled it. Those incident you mentioned were hits or bad challenges which can happen in the blink of an eye. The thought process of either removing your GPS or getting a backroom panel member to hand you one to throw it at player makes this in my opinion worse. Those bad challenges can sometimes be explained as a rush of blood to the head. Where this was a planned and deliberate act. People shout and moan when a player dives or goes down under a soft challenge. It was completely unsporting and I haven't seen anything that deliberate in Gaa before. Hits are one thing but this something else.

Replying To essmac:  "Wake me up when it's over tbh. Expect a poor, niggly game, with bad refereeing, and a tiring Tyrone parking the bus cos they can't run in he last quarter etc. Kerry at a canter. Hopefully, we'll have a more meaningful game next year."
You have to be the most negative and down beaten fan I think I have ever seen lol

Replying To royaldunne:  "Congratulations on ur win. But back to back won't happen. Dublin haven't gone away you know. And Kerry with a good manager will both be better than Tyrone next year, Donegal also in with a shout. And I'd expect mayo to beat anyone apart from in a final."
Never understood all this hype around Donegal. They haven't been in a semi final or final since 2014 but each year there is this massive hype that they can go and push on

Why Mayo Cant Win An All-Ireland - 2 Like(s)

Replying To Mailman98:  "[quote=martinjoe:  "While the best team as you say, nearly always wins, the do not always win. In the finlas that Mayo have played they have never got a break that went their way, say from a mistake by a ref etc. And so it proved again on Saturday. Nobody outside Tyrone would have been outraged if the free on the edge of the square had been given as a peno."
They got a break last Sunday in the first 20 seconds when Conroy was guilty of the most blatant incident of charging I have ever seen yet allowed to carry on and kick the opening score. He could have broken his neck the way he charged in head first."]Agreed. Thought that was a text book example of charging. Mayo also got a break when ohora and AOS got away with black cards. Not to mention the penalty that should have been a free out.

Replying To Fairplayalways:  "do we know he laughed, i hear this going on with other players too..did he smile and say Jaysus Darren how did you miss that (in a good sense) and because the camera picks up a smile and a laughing picture its assumed it was ill intended..dont get me wrong it could be and Darren might have reacted anyway even to a good willed statement...the camera does lie sometimes...."
It was mckenna who kicked a bad wide and when the camera went zoomed in on mckenna Lee came straight over into his face and started laughing. Mckenna turned and walked away.

Tyrone Vs Kerry Without COVID Talk - 2 Like(s)
Was a poor enough display from both teams. They tried to cancel each other out and to a degree it worked. Think all this talk about tyrone hoodwinking kerry or the gaa is over the top. The game was postponed soely to make the gaa money, not to help tyrone. Kerry should have and I assume were prepared for a fully fit and functional tyrone team. If they showed up half fit then kerry should have walked it. If they showed up fully fit then should have had been prepared. Relying on 2 scorers will bring trouble no matter what. Thought tyrone should have pulled mccname as he was having a poor game on Clifford and seemed to be walking a tight rope at times.

Mayo V Tyrone All-Ireland Football Final - 2 Like(s)

Replying To martinjoe:  "I might be alone but I thought Kerry the better team on Saturday. They got more scores, have several ref calls go against them, and had one of these days when everything went against them especially with the goal chances. Morgan landed a once in a decade free which in the end was the difference. Tyorne were well on top in the rough and tumble end of things yet again but I cannot see that happening v the new Mayo. I expect David Gough to ref the final and he will be much sharper in dealing with off the ball fouls, verbals and more."
Didn't think any call went against kerry. There was a clear hand trip on a tyrone player mid way through the first half, nothing given. Clifford ran through the back of Meyler, no card shown. Moments before tyrones goal mcgeary was taken out after he offloaded the ball, again nothing given, it actually worked out in their favour thankfully. Gough is a decent ref. If we are talking about off the ball antics keegan had better be on best behaviour then lol

Some seriously short memories from Donegal fans here. Remember them saying it was an open handed slap and wasn't a red card Colm O'Rourke and Joe Brolly slam Tyrone ace Michael McKernan for 'play acting' after a slap from Donegal's Paul Brennan https://www.thesun.ie/sport/gaa-football/6094583/michael-mckernan-tyrone-donegal-colm-orourke-gaa/

Replying To The_Fridge:  "Smart fouling?"
There is always an aspect of smart fouling in every game but I thought the Mcquillan game some soft frees towards the end for Donegal. Apparently now when a player runs towards you, you have to move out of the way or risk getting a black card.

Mayo to win. That tyrone kerry match as a footballing game was horrible. May have been exciting but was poor. Mayo would eat either of those teams alive Glad tyrone won and are moving in the right direction but it was a poor enough display.

Replying To traleegerry:  "It will take and should take more than tea and sandwiches to make up for the we were treated by tryrone and micky harte in particular the way he sent his teams out to play and intimidate kerry in particular. Yes he was clapped out by our support but would you not think that applause was for hurt micky had endured in his personal life with the losing of his doughter no man no person should endure that in life. But the fact remains he sent his teams out to play in a nasty way. I was in Edendork a few years ago. David Clifford having a stormer of a game what does micky harte do Sent a guy on to intimidate David who was very young at time and low and behol David gets sent off.. Finger in the gooches eye. The verbal and physical intimidation of a young Tommy. Open your eyes man. Yes forgive but do not forget. Ciarrai abu"
Did you forget about Tadhg Kennelly nearly taking the head of a player in the first 30 seconds of game.

Just occurred to me that if tyrone had of pulled out and Kerry got a pass to the final there still would have been at least a 5 week break to their next match. Puts to bed the issue of tyrone getting the extra week.

Replying To KerrymanStuckInDonegal:  "I do. It's sad but Tyrone were very lucky that the Kerry set up didn't make more of it. What little we do know is very disturbing. In relation to McShane, yes I know a an extra week won't cure him but it will help a little., it's a pity because Tyrone and Kerry both need to be playing each other at full strength if either want to challenge the dubs. McShane is a massive loss even if he does play, because he needs to be 100 percent fit to impose himself physically as he did in past..."
What were the details around it. I remember there was talk about tyrone putting something in a water bottle a kerry player had. One its extremely risky as they wouldnt have know how much harm it could have caused the player and secondly they would have had to ensure no tyrone player drank from it. At the time I heard about it I said a full investigation should be launched. As if someone from tyrone was guilty they should be banned for life. Alternatively if they were found not guilty then kerry should be heavily punished for false accusations. Thought i had seen it all when a GPS tracker was thrown in an final never mind potential poising. Anyway getting back to the game I think it will go ahead barring any further issues.

Tyrone Vs Donegal - 1 Like(s)

Replying To Tirchonaill1:  "Well that's it for us for this year, losing Neil early on and then Michael was too much, Michael is no were near fit and I wouldn't have started him, not fair on the man because I know he'd bust a gut to play for Donegal, thought his first yellow was harsh but that's how it goes sometimes, don't know why we didn't start Mac Niallas, one of the most talented players in the country, maybe not one of Bonners favs I don't know, on the game I thought it was never a penalty but if Michael sticks it away we might have kicked on, a blind man could see he wasn't fit, not himself at all, I put that down to weak management, same thing happened playing him against Down, the manager has to be strong enough to lay down the law, we seem to have management by consensus. Time for a change, if we don't get Jim back which I know is very unlikely I'd like to see us look outside the county for a good young up and coming manager with some fresh ideas and no baggage, we have a great pool of talent and more coming through, I think the future is bright for Donegal football still, hope that's not the last we see of the great Neil McGee, what a warrior, when you see Neil lying on the ground you know he's injured unlike the likes of Tiernan McCann, seen him at his old antics late on in the game to kill time, feigning injury really makes me sick, it has crept in from the soccer world and Tyrone have a few experts at it, So now it's Monaghan v Tyrone final, hard to call but if I was having a bet on it I would be favouring Tyrone, when they have their best team on the pitch I think they'll beat Monaghan and will be better equipped to give Kerry a run for their money. Hope it's a great Ulster final now, best of luck to both teams."
Regarding the McCann incident I gave him the benefit of the doubt this time as there was no reason to fake an injury as he was past the man and had a clear run in front of him. There wasn't really anything to gain from going down as it allowed Donegal to pull players back. Totally agree any feigning injury should be stomped out.
