I wonder will some teams go back to strategically placing their maor uisce in open spaces for opposision kickouts? KingdomBoy1 (Kerry) - Posts: 14092 - 26/01/2022 13:34:14 2396544 Link 0 |
Or trying to shower one of the opposing player...... but we won't go back to that :-)

Hey Barney it was a hot day and the player obviously needed cooling down with some high quality H20 :-)

Why is every thing is so difficult for the GAA with b.s. and cheating practiced/tolerated . The only one on the field should be players, the officials and medical help when called by the referee. Teams have a captain or two and have them come to the line to get instructions. If you are going to let entry on to the field by team mentors, permission has to be asked from the lines man. Can only be done when the ball is out of play at either end and be off before play resumes. If not give a free for too many players on the field because he is acting like a player if interfering with play. No it is ignore this nonsense and make a mockery of our games. Come to the line if you need a drink with the water boy outside the line. Plenty of breaks in play.

Does that mean then that the water breaks won't be there for any of the club Hurling/Football finals? Bon (Kildare) - Posts: 1893 - 26/01/2022 15:01:34 2396571 Link 0 |
It's all long forgotten :-) (Says people from two counties who remember stuff from the 1955 final even though they were not born at the time!) BarneyGrant (Dublin) - Posts: 2466 - 26/01/2022 15:22:17 2396577 Link 0 |
100%, there are plenty of breaks and it's only 35 minutes a half.

Totally agree. There is almost an appreciation of "****housery" which has crept in over the years. Ridiculous stuff altogether.

I know, I went back as far as the 1910 allireland final against Louth last year and the rail strike.

agree, its crazy. even teams delaying coming back onto the pitch. there should be a sanction. possession to the other team, or god forbid the ball is thrown in at the allotted time and if you are not there.........

It should be thrown in. Teams would think twice about coming back out when they feel like it.

Agree, hooter for time keeping. Hooter for two minutes to restart and hooter for start no mater whose in the middle of the field. Of course they would say they did not hear it. Tough you know what. You have 24 people back room people make one of them the time watcher.

Not been biased either. I thought our great bid Dan had come back from retirement. Fully togged out and all over the pitch. He is not the type of fellow who would abuse anyone but he should not have been out there.

Like most things with the GAA there is such a simple solution as you suggested if they really wanted to do something about it. So simple.

Water breaks gone, now could the mark go next? Refs blowing for marks when players sometimes don't call for it. Saynothing (Tyrone) - Posts: 1997 - 29/01/2022 20:44:56 2397068 Link 1 |
Happened 3 out 4 times last night in Croker. The mark is an awful rule. MesAmis (Dublin) - Posts: 13694 - 30/01/2022 10:26:00 2397102 Link 0 |
They need to go alright. One of the most pointless rules they brought in irecent years.

Anyone actually play football on this- Any player iv talked to they welcomed the rule. An organised 2 min water break - there was no problem with it Leftboothaey (Westmeath) - Posts: 27 - 25/02/2022 13:31:28 2402346 Link 0 |
You don't watch much if you think it's a 2 minute break.
