Replying To Seanfanbocht:  "I hate it as it's not a traditional Ros jersey.
I wouldn't have minded the one top blue band but 3 of them -- no thanks."
I get your point. However a yellow jersey with one blue band at the top would be very similar to the existing Clare jersey.
Did not like the new Roscommon jersey at first but it is beginning to grow on me a little.

Having had a good look at it I'm inclined to give it the thumbs up. I must say I quite liked the current one. Hope we're not drawn against Clare anytime soon as someone will have to change for the day. Still that what happened before when they met. Let's hope it's a winner.

Yeah I definitely think it gets nicer looking the more I see it. Think it'll look great when we see them fully kitted out in it on match day. I wonder what the alternative jersey to it will look like? I can understand a lot of people's negativity towards it but it's a huge upgrade on the last kit. Still think it's one of the nicest county kits out there. Now for a stellar season to follow in all grades for the Rossies

Replying To Oddball:  "I was told today that Jack Duggan has transferred back to Longford.
That's a pity, would have been nice to see him try and stake a claim for a place on the championship panel.
On the jersey, I'm not a fan of it at all.....I might have been swayed a bit if it was the goalkeepers jersey!"
Right decision for him to transfer back. Was had no Ciaran Murtagh,Cian McKeon and Ben O'Carroll out injured for most of the year and Duggan couldn't stake a claim for a place on the panel so was even less chance with all three back for 2025.

Some of the O'Neills designers must follow a bit of Italian soccer. Have a look at the team shirt for Parma AC 1998-1999.
Some team which included some top Italian and Argentina players: Buffon, Baggio, Cannavaro, Veron, Crespo etc.
Hopefully we might get some success with the new jersey?
Often wondered if a bright coloured jersey was an advantage or a disadvantage. Being able to quickly pick out a teammate, but so can the opposition. (advantage/disadvantage?)

According to Alex Ferguson in the mid 90s players couldn't see themselves when wearing grey jerseys and changed to blue and white top 2nd half.

That was just an excuse because they were being thumped by Southampton!! Fergie would blame anything bar himself for a poor performance or team selection.

Bringing another strip/kit to away game showed Ferguson genuinely thought there was a problem with this kit and the 1st half of Southampton game was the final straw for that jersey. A month later his team would lift up the league title wearing the blue and white kit and that win was enough to keep Southampton up on the final day of the season.

Premier League soccer teams bring more than one kit to away games, due to possible kit clashes with opposing team and referee kit. They wore the grey kit a few times before that, so why all of a sudden could they not see each other lol. Everybody knows it was Fergie taking the blame off himself!!

Possible kit clashes would be well known in advance of professional sports matches such as the Premier League. Wasn't all off a sudden, 1st half of the game v Southampton was as I said the final straw for that jersey.

You're obviously a Manure fan who won't just admit that Fergie would blame everything and anything bar himself for things not going to plan!!

Was originally replying to letsgetgoing on jersey colours. I follow the sport than any team. And even I know know not to use that term on Manchester United which relates to disgusting chants by rival supporters towards the Munich tradedy.

And then I was just pointing out to you that good old Fergie would never put any blame on himself and blame the colour of jerseys instead!!! But you didn't like that been pointed out for some strange reason!!

Any thoughts on tomorrow's intermediate Connacht final in Dr Hyde park.

Elphin will need to play as well as they did in the county final v Strokestown to win tomorrow. Defensively has been their strong point in the championship this year for them and need to be solid against freely scoring Crossmolina outfit. Conor Loftus, Jordan Flynn their best known players and they have plenty of good young players in their ranks having won the U21 B county title last year.

Best of luck to Elphin.

I'd love to see Elphin prevail, but I think Crossmolina will just have too much for them.
