Ballygunner’s unhealthy dominance of the Waterford club hurling scene continued at the weekend when they completed a treble of SHC, MHC and U20HC titles for the second year in-a-row.

Eoin Cuddihy shot 2-4 from play in a man of the match performance to help the ‘Gunners retain their U20 crown with a 2-21 to 1-16 victory over Abbeyside at Fraher Field. Both of his goals came in the second half after Fergal Hartley’s charges had taken a 0-12 to 0-8 lead into the break.

The ‘Gunners have won the last 11 Waterford SHC titles and with a conveyor belt of talent coming through, it’s difficult to see their dominance coming to an end any time soon as their rivals struggle to keep pace.
