Monaghan secured a dramatic penalty shoot-out Dr McKenna Cup semi-final victory over hosts Armagh last night.

Seamus McEneaney’s men overturned a 0-4 to 0-8 half-time deficit to send the contest to penalties and Jemar Hall’s missed spot kick proved to be the difference between the teams at the end.

Substitute Jack McCarron led the Monaghan fight back in the second-half with a return of 0-3 and he was also successful with his penalty attempt.

Conor McCarthy, Aaron Mulligan, Shane Carey and David Garland also found the back of the Orchard County’s net.

Rian O'Neill, Aidan Nugent, Rory Grugan and Stefan Campbell did likewise for Kieran McGeeney’s side but Hall’s effort cleared the crossbar and it’s Monaghan who will take on Donegal in the decider this Saturday in Healy Park (5pm).
