Ciaran Sheehan has been ruled out of Cork’s 2020 championship campaign after undergoing knee surgery.

Having spent six years in Australia with AFL side Carlton, Sheehan returned home earlier this year and featured prominently for the Rebels in a couple of Allianz League games prior to lockdown.

Manager Ronan McCarthy has confirmed that the 29-year-old will now be sidelined for this winter’s championship, while Tomás Clancy is also ruled out with injury.

Should Cork defeat Louth this Saturday they’ll be promoted back to Division 2, with their crunch Munster SFC semi-final clash Kerry just a couple of weeks away on November 8.
