Andy Moran is among the early favourites to be the next Mayo football manager.

The former Footballer of the Year and current Leitrim boss could be tempted to throw his hat into the ring after James Horan brought the curtain down on his second four-year tenure yesterday.

Moran's assistant in Leitrim, Mike Solan, has also been linked with the position, having been in the running when it last became vacant at the end of 2018. There is also a possibility that Moran and Solan could be part of the same package.

Former manager Stephen Rochford, who has been involved as a coach with Donegal in recent seasons, may also fancy a return to the role, while NUI Galway's Sigerson Cup winning manager Maurice Sheridan and Knockmore's Ray Dempsey could also be in the reckoning.
