Team news: Whelan replaces the injured Maher in Laois line-up

Laois manager Seamus Plunkett has named his starting line-up for this evening's Allianz Hurling League Division 1 relegation play-off against Westmeath at MW Hire O'Moore Park, with Matthew Whelan indirectly replacing the injured Stephen Maher.

The Borris-Kilcotton clubman, who is playing his 15th consecutive season with the county, comes in at full-back in the only change to the side that pushed Waterford all the way in the All-Ireland qualifiers before succumbing to a 3-23 to 2-21 defeat.
