Wicklow Ladies – In a historic first double header in Aughrim the Ladies took on Down on Sun 10 Feb and had a fabulous win on a scoreline of 1-16 to 3-04. Well done to Kim Connors.

Wicklow footballers – Following on from the excellent win for the ladies the gents took on Limerick and won on a scoreline of 2-08 to 1-06. Well done to Patrick O’Connor. Continued best wishes to Anto McLoughlin who was injured last week.

Wicklow Minors – Well done to the Blessington lads Luke O’Brien and Daniel Cooney who were on the Wicklow panel who beat Offaly away on Sat 9 Feb 3-08 to 0-8. Also travelling with the team was the injured Jack Sargent.

Seniors – Our senior team kicked off the league against Tinahely away on Sat 9 Feb. Although we started fairly well, we still squandered a lot of ball at crucial times in the game. Half time we were down 2 pts - 0-8 to 0-6. The team didn’t get going in the second half and gave away an early penalty. Tinahely went 1 pt up and held on to win on a full-time score of 1-12 to 0-11. Next up is at home v AGB on Sun 17 Feb at 11am.

Senior Ladies – The ladies are looking forward to a lot of football and craic when they take part in the Paidi Ó’Se tournament next weekend 15 – 17 Feb. Enjoy ladies.

Scor Sinsear – Will not be held in Blessington this year. It has been decided that it will now take place on Fri 22 Feb in Ballinakill. No further details to date. This is the adult Scor (over 17) and the table quiz will also be held on the night as well. Looking for any solo singers, story tellers, ballad groups and set dancers to take on the challenge. Contact Catherine Behan on 0871224019 to register.

U13’s – Well done to U13 boys who had a great win at home to Ballylinan (Laois) in thr Leinster Cross Border league on Sat 9 Feb. After defeat away last week to Palatine (Carlow) the lads raised their game performance today and played some great football and took great scores. Next up is home to Kill on Sat Feb 23. Well done lads. U13 Rising Stars Football Program 2019 will run in 2 venues on 19 and 21 Feb – Baltinglass and Ballinakill. Coaches to send on players born in 2005 in Ballinakill.

U15’s - Lads have a had a reasonably good start to the year. The Cross-County league kicked off on Sat 4 Feb. Blessington played away to the Heath in Laois and came away with a 9-point win of 2-12 to 2-03. On Sat 9 Feb there was a good turnout with 21 players available. They played a competitive game against Ballylinan, a Div 1 Laois team but lost by a single point on a score of 2-08 to 2-07, a good competitive game but one that possibly was there for the taking.  Next game in the Cross-County league is scheduled at home on Sat 23 Feb V Kill with a place in the semi-final up for grabs. Training on Tuesday in Fight Fit dojo with Lenny 6:10 to 7pm. Any boys born 2004 or 2005 are more than welcome to join. Please contact Kevin on 0876123203.

Condolences – Sincere sympathies to the Boylan family on the sad passing of Eddie (Snr) and to Sinead Hennessy and family on the sad passing of Nicholas (Nicky) Byrne (Tinahely). Sad news also to hear that former County Secretary, current Secretary of St Patrick’s, Wicklow Town and Wicklow rep on Leinster Council Michael (Mick) Murphy passed away on Sun 10 Feb. Funeral arrangements later. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a h’anamacha.
