Arklow Geraldines club notes

September 10, 2018

AGBs Senior Men faced Annacurra on Friday evening in Avondale in the last game of their group in the Senior Championship.  An excellent team performance from AGB saw them finish with a final score of 4-17 to 1-09, which saw AGB top the league table on Friday night.  Scores were from Darragh Fitzgerald 0-01,Stephen Hurley 0-03, Cormac O Shea 0-04, JP Hurley 0-03, Cathal Kelleher 1-00, Philip Healy 2-03, Chris O Brien 0-01, Andy Maher 1-00, James Tyrell 0-01, and Tiernan McBride 0-01. The Senior Men now await confirmation of the quarter final match which will see them play Kiltegan on Sunday in Joule Park Aughrim. ( Time to be confirmed)

AGBs Junior Ladies were knocked out of the Junior A Championship on Sunday morning after a tough match against An Tochar.  The match was played in Ashford, and the AGB girls really gave it their all and dominated the majority of the first half and lead 2-03 to 1-04 at the half time whistle. The second half saw the girls continue to strive on but unfortunately a two point lead saw An Tochar progress ahead of them to the Final.  The final score finished AGB 2-07 to An Tochar 2-09.  An excellent season for our girls.

Well done to AGBs U12 Girls who represented AGB on the U12 Wicklow Pannel, Aoise Dunning, Catherine Burke, Deirbhla Gavigan, Niamh Kavanagh and Amy Burke.

Hard luck to our U13 Boys who played Clann Na Gael at home in Ballymoney.  An excellent match for our boys, where they really gave it their all. They were unfortunate to finish defeated as their efforts were no reflection on the final score.

The U11 Boys were both away last Wednesday evening and played two excellent games of football.  Great sportsmanship was shown in both matches from the AGB boys.

Well done to AGBs U15 Boys who finished winners of the U15 League.  The boys were presented the cup by Mick Hagan last Wednesday evening after an excellent match saw them finish in the lead to St. Pats.  Congratulations to the boys and their management team, their dedication and hard work throughout the season has really stood to them.
