Congratulations to our County Hurlers in the Christy Ring victory against Roscommon in Athleague. On Saturday the Hurlers started well to lead by the bare minimum at half time Roscommon 0-10 Wicklow 1-08. In the second half the game was nip and tuck with Wicklow remaining unbeaten in the Christy Ring Cup Full time: Roscommon 0-16 Wicklow 2-16  Congratulations to all involved especially our own Andy O'Brien, George O'Brien, John Connors, Christy Moorehouse (Jnr) and Gerry Connors. In the other game Kildare held on to defeat Mayo 2-14 to 1-15. The hurlers now take a break until June 2nd for their final group game with Kildare in the Christy Ring Cup. A victory over Kildare will see them top the group.

 

Well done to all involved with Wicklow U17 Hurling Celtic Challenge with the Full Time result in Bray: Wicklow 4:14 Meath 3:7 Congratulations to our own Paddy Moorehouse who picked up the man of the match award Bagging 2:6 from play. The U17 hurlers have three wins from three games played. The Final round will be on 6th June in Hawkfield against Kildare.

 

Best of luck to all involved with the County Footballers as the travel to O'Moore Park, Portlaoise to take on the All-Ireland Champions Dublin in the Leinster Senior Football Championship 2018 Quarter Final on Sunday 27th May at 4pm especially our own Dean Healy, Johnny Crowe and Conor Ffrench.

On Saturday afternoon in glorious sunshine St Patricks GAA welcomed the camogie clubs of Avoca and Arklow Rock Parnells to the first U8 and U10 Camogie Blitz in Dunbur since 1985. A great display of camogie was delivered by the girls from  Avoca U8 and U10, Arklow Rock Parnells U8, and our own St Patrick's U8 and U10's. A big thank you to all the organisers for a successful blitz our coaches Conor Lawlor Paul O'Brien and Margaret Leonard, the referees for the afternoon Willie Carey and Alan Lawlor and Photographers Suzanne Lawlor and Patrice Evans.

Camogie continues in St. Pats for All Girls born in 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011 at St. Patrick's GAA Club, Dunbur Road in the club hall on Thursday's at 6-35pm to 7-45pm.

NEW MEMBERS WELCOME

 

Hard luck to the hurlers who played Kilcoole in the Leinster League Quarter Finals on Tuesday night with the full time scoreline of 1-14 to 1-11.

 

On Wednesday our Junior Hurlers travelled to Greystones in the Junior Hurling League. An entertaining game saw both side sharing the points with the full time score of Eiré Óg Greystones 1-10 St Patrick's 0-13.

 

On Monday our U16 ladies u16 made the long haul to Baltinglass in the league. In an absorbing game of football which the Downey girls, Hope and Isabella made their debut together. St Patricks were deserving winners with the full time score of Baltinglass 4-05 St. Patrick's 7-23. Well done to all the players, parents and manager Brian McSorley

 

On Tuesday our U14 Ladies made the short trip to Merrymeeting to take on our neighbours Rathnew. Congratulations to all the players and the Management of Liam Keogh, Trina Keogh and Sean O'Brien with the final score line: Rathnew 3-01 St Patricks 4-09

 

Well done to the U13 hurlers who had a great win over Bray Emmets in the league on Monday evening in Dunbur on a scoreline of 8-10 to 1-4 in the U13 Hurling league Division 1.

St Patricks GAA hosted the U7 and U9 Hurling Blitz in Dunbur on Friday 18th May 2018 in great weather. We welcomed Kilcoole and Eire Og with great numbers, an enjoyable night of hurling was had by all with excellent skill levels shown by all.

 

Some of our future stars and players of the week this week were Davey Driver and Callum o Flaherty in football and Gerry Connors and Jamie Noctor in hurling well done boys! 
 

Congratulations to Ronan and Serena Connolly on the birth of their son Young Sean Thomas Connolly on Thursday. Mother and baby are doing great.

 

Apparently there is a film out there of the Senior County Football Final of 1969 between St. Patrick's and Ashford?

It was shown in Fitzpatrick's Bar in Wicklow in March of 1970 so someone has at least one copy of it. Does anyone know where this video may be? Please contact Club PRO John Smith [email protected].

Our sincere condolences to the family of Teresa Kavanagh née Ryan of Wicklow Town and late of Glenealy who passed away 13th May 2018 peacefully at St Vincent's University Hospital surrounded by her family.

Dearly loved wife of John and much loved and loving mother of John, Jennifer, Andrea and Timmy. Remembered with love by her 9 grandchildren, sisters Madge and Kay, extended family and friends.
