Wexford forward Rory O’Connor believes that their draw against Galway was the turning point in their Leinster SHC campaign.

The Model County had three draws and a win to get them through to the provincial final where they defeated Kilkenny in the decider.

O’Connor, who was man of the match against the Cats last Sunday, feels that the draw in Salthill where Wexford came from six points down to earn a share of the spoils was when they really started to believe in themselves.

“Davy put it on us this year. He believed in us fully, and it was probably in the dressingroom that we didn’t back ourselves,” O’Connor told the Wexford People.

“We said after up in Salthill when we drew with Galway that we could have beaten them. We decided to get a bit of belief in ourselves and look where it’s got us now.”
