Wexford hurler Cathal Dunbar will serve a one-game suspension for his sending off in the county semi-final, despite being free to play in the county final.

The Naomh Eanna star scored four points from play in the county final win over St Martin’s, having being cleared to play the night before the game.

However, the Wexford DRA have stated that Dunbar will serve a one-match suspension, which will mean he will miss the opening round of the 2019 Wexford SHC.

The St Martin’s club would be well within their rights to query as to why Dunbar was free to play in the county final if he still has to serve a suspension?

The county star will also be free to line out for Naomh Eanna in this Sunday’s Leinster club SHC quarterfinal against Laois champions Camross, as he must serve his ban in the competition that he was sent off in.
