Saint Lomans. Five League Titles in a Row

(Oldest Posts First)

Hard to argue with that record. Impressive to say the least. And also a victory today minus 4 or 5 first team players, including Heslin and Sharry

James Dolan and Mark McCallon. Lost Dessie to injury early on. League is league. Garrycastle are in better shape to do well than the past two years. Group A is going to be ultra competitive.

Well done to Lomans. It's nice to win the league, but I'm sure they won't be celebrating it at the end of the year unless they get their 3 in a row of championships.

That's why the most significant game of the opening round is Athlone v Killucan. The loser will be on the back foot immediately. Wouldn't be making Garrycastle certs for top 4 just yet either. There isn't an easy win in that group. Any injuries could be significant too with the games coming so close together.

Very competitive group for sure. You'd imagine Athlone have a great chance of progressing with their 5 county panelists (down to 4 following John Connellan's departure) ? Interesting to see things picking up for Killucan after a poor enough div 3 league campaign without their many county players. Granted only the Feis Cup but they defeated Kinnegad and gave Mullingar Shamrocks a game.
