Result

 

Well done to our junior team on a fantastic 1-15 to 1-6 win over Coralstown-Kinnegad last Sunday in The Downs in our opening championship game.

 

After leading by 0-9 to 1-0 at half-time, a goal from top scorer David Hickey shortly after the restart helped us push on in the 2nd half to earn a 9 point victory.

Fixtures

 

Senior Championship: Round 1 against Coralstown-Kinnegad on Friday at 7.30PM in TEG Cusack Park.

 

Junior B Championship: Round 2 against Multyfarnham on Sunday at 7.30PM in St.Loman's.

 

U17 Championship: at home to Shandonagh at 7PM on Wednesday.

 

U15 Championship: away to St.Mary's, Rochfortbridge will have been played at 7PM on Monday 3rd August.

 

U13 Championship: away to Lilliput Gaels at 7PM on Thursday.

 

Reminder that only 200 people are permitted to attend all games with this including players, management, officials and organisers.

2020 Championship Draws

 

Seniors are in Group 4 and will face Mullingar Shamrocks and Coralstown/Kinnegad.

 

Juniors are in Group 2 and will play Coralstown/Kinnegad and Multyfarnham.

 

U17's are in Division 1 Group 1 and will play Coralstown-Kinnegad, St.Loman's and Shandonagh.

 

U15's are in Division 2 Group 2 and will play The Downs, St.Mary's, Rochfortbridge and Kilbeggan/Milltownpass.

 

U13's are in Division 2 Group 2 and will play Tyrrellspass, St.Mary's, Rochfortbridge and Lilliput Gaels.

 

Covid-19 - Return to Play Protocol

 

The following changes to the return to activity guidelines are being made after recommendations from the GAA's Covid-19 Advisory Committee.

 

These changes were subsequently endorsed by the GAA, the Camogie Association and the LGFA.

 

From June 29th:

 

• Allow contact training and challenge games for all from Monday, June 29th.

• Restriction on participants-only attending training sessions to be relaxed from June 29th – subject to government specified maximum of 200 people in the ground.

• Allow Club Fixtures from Friday July 17th.

• No change to inter-county dates (Sept 14th for training; competitions to start on Oct 17th as planned).

• All control measures for players, coaches and other team personnel (completion of health questionnaire, eLearning education etc) is to remain in place until advised otherwise; dressing rooms to remain closed until further notice.

 

Return of Underage Training

 

U15's and U13's 6.30pm on Monday & Friday. U11's at 4pm on Saturday.

 

Lotto

 

The lotto is back on sale in local shops and is now available online by either downloading the Clubforce app and selecting Killucan or by pressing the shop now button on our Facebook page.

 

There was no winner of our lotto jackpot held on July 27. The promoter's prize went to Paul Briody. Numbers drawn were 1, 8, 23 and 29.

This week's draw is at the clubhouse for a jackpot of €13,000. The funds raised from the lotto goes towards the running of the club.

Fobs can now be returned to Ennis's shop which has a drop-off box.

 

National Student Bursary

 

The GAA has announced details of the 2019/2020 GAA National Student Bursary. The scheme is open to members of the Association who are attending a full-time Higher Education course (except those who hold another GAA-related or college scholarship/bursary) and who are active participants in their Higher Education club. Applications for the scheme will be considered by a sub-committee in each province; each bursary granted will be for €750. Please see the GAA's website for more details.
