Thank you to all club members and supporters for their responsible actions over the last two weeks. No doubt it is extremely difficult to cope without hurling as part of your life but we must keep positive. Just keep thinking of how enjoyable it will all be when you get back playing again. Hopefully everyone is keeping safe and healthy and following all recommended guidelines. In the meantime, keep up your spirits by exercising and walking but ensuring you keep the recommended social distancing. A number of exercises and hurling challenges have been posted on line for all members to keep you active and occupied at home while getting in some valuable hurling skills practise.
Meanwhile. in a novel development the club's committee recently held a teleconference to update members on a number of issues and it worked extremely well.
Unfortunately a number of games and events in the GAA world have been cancelled for 2020 on account of the recent coronavirus situation. This year's National Feile na nGael (hurling) and Feile na nÓg (football) competitions are cancelled so the county events will not take place this year. Also all Celtic Challenge hurling games and activities have fallen victim to the crisis. Inter club games are of course all postponed at the moment and notice will be circulated well in advance of games starting again. However, at the moment this may be some time away yet.
The club wish to extend condolences to the Hogan family Altown ,Garrycastle on the recent bereavement of Pat Hogan. May he rest in peace.
