Kilbeggan Shamrocks GAA Notes

December 01, 2019

Scór na nÓg

Well done to our Ballad Group comprising John Tehan, Martha O’Grady, Ava Rochford, Tadhg McNamee and Darragh McDonnell who represented us in last Sunday’s Scór na nÓg county final in The Downs.

Despite giving an excellent account of themselves, they lost out to a very strong Moate All-Whites group. The other acts in the Ballad Group were The Downs and Shandonagh. The club would like to thank Geraldine and Fiona for all their work with the children over the past number of weeks. We are already looking forward to next year and the prospect of having increased children and parent participation.

Lotto

Last week's lucky numbers were 4, 9, 13 and 24. The Match 3 winners were Paula Guilfoyle, Tara Malone, Chris Lynam and Nicola Shortt. This week's draw takes place in The Saddler’s Inn with the jackpot standing at €12,600. Tickets, costing €2, can be purchased locally. Thank you for your continued support.

The late Jimmy Finnegan

We were saddened to learn of the passing of Jimmy Finnegan, Lower Main Street, last week. Aged 92 and a native of Wilkinstown, Co. Meath, Jimmy was an absolute gentleman who was very proud to see his son Séamus and grandsons James and Thomas wear the Kilbeggan jersey. His daughter Kathleen also sells lotto tickets for the club outside Centra every week.

May he rest in peace.
